The house, for Praveen and Deepthi, has a square footage of 2100.Set in an urban neighbourhood, in Trivandrum, the 9 cents plot holds evenly the green and the built. Half of the land is utilised for farming activities and the other half houses the small family of four. The architectural language carried into the design is of tropical regionalism with a modern approach. The built form is developed as a combination of sloping and flat roof planes, with a large glazed corner being the dominant design element. Parts of exposed laterite and dark grey walls gives a visual contrast to the white facade. The ground floor caters to the general living zones with an open kitchen, dining, bedroom for the parents during their occasional visit and a guest bedroom. The large patterned grill work at a double height creates a play of light inside the living area and make the room look more spacious.The first floor houses the master bedroom along with a study zone and a play zone.
