The Courtyard house
Sheela House | Mannar
A single storeyed house modeled on the traditional typology. The design of the house centers on the climatic principles that increases the thermal comfort as soon as one enters the verandah. The project had been awarded the “best residence 2007” by Malayala Manorama Parpidom. The rear courtyard, adjoining the family living space acts as a spill out space for the regular community gatherings that the client hosts. An entrance in the courtyard facilitates for the informal entry into the house. Earthy and pastel shades form the colour theme of the project.
